What happens when you bring stroke care directly to the patient?
UF Health currently operates three Mobile Stroke Units across Florida, bringing together EMS, nursing, radiology, point-of-care laboratory capabilities, and hospital-level care in what they describe as essentially an “emergency room on wheels.”
In this video, Nicolle Davis – UF Health Mobile Stroke Program Director, shares how their Mobile Stroke Unit program has grown since launching its first unit in Gainesville in July 2023. The goal is simple: bring time-sensitive stroke treatment into the field, where every minute can make a difference.
The video also explores the collaboration behind these specialized vehicles. Frazer has worked with UF Health from the launch of its first Mobile Stroke Unit through subsequent builds, incorporating feedback from crews to support operations, ergonomics, troubleshooting, and future improvements.
