A new exciting chapter for EMS in Bastrop County
When Bastrop County EMS prepared to begin operations in Bastrop County, Texas, the department selected 15 new Frazer custom emergency vehicles designed around patient care, crew access, and long-term fleet value. In this video, EMS Director Allen Johnson gives a firsthand tour of one of their new 14-foot door-forward Frazer units during delivery at Frazer’s Texas headquarters.
Allen highlights several features Bastrop County EMS prioritized in its new EMS fleet, including Frazer’s straightforward electrical system, generous exterior storage, independent heating and air conditioning, and a spacious patient compartment that gives providers better access to critical patients.
The door-forward layout is another important part of the configuration. It provides convenient inside/outside equipment access while helping create additional separation between the side entry door and the patient-care area. Allen explains how that added space can improve patient privacy while giving crews more room to work.
Inside the Frazer unit, Bastrop County EMS added an onboard refrigerator, secure controlled-substance storage, accessible LifeDefender cabinetry, and multiple provider seating positions. The interior is designed to keep critical supplies within reach while giving crews room to provide care from multiple sides of the patient.
